Guirlande Zetrenne

Guirlande Zetrenne knows that successful students become successful adults. This is her 24th year with the NYCDOE. During this time, she was a classroom teacher for grades kindergarten through seventh, reading teacher, Scholastic Consultant, UFT Teacher Center Reading Coach, and Universal Literacy Reading Coach.  In 2013, she was awarded the Association of Black Educators of New York Teacher of the Year. Ms. Zetrenne majored in political science and education at CUNY Brooklyn College, graduating with honors and earning a Master of Education degree. She received her Juris Doctorate in 2008. Whether as an African dancer, ESL teacher for adults, or a political organizer, Ms. Zetrenne believes that the ability to teach knowledge to others and receive knowledge from others is one of the most fundamental qualities of humanity. Ms. Zetrenne is excited to begin her first year with District 13 as the Academic Intervention Services Coordinator.
